The inspiration for these wovens, along with so many other pieces, comes from an adoration of ancient handcrafts. When one views old works of art, old objects of life, the quality and care is obvious.
The spark of this woven collection began years ago. I recall weaving dried reeds into play boats as a child, knitting, and collecting baskets. Much later, with my emergence into the medium of metals, I began weaving copper using a technique used by Vikings in ancient times.
I continue to be inspired by intricate weavings of all materials, and enjoy the continued exploration of weaving metal into adornment. The result is timeless and hard-to-place; somewhere between modern and ancient.
